We, Mike Guwak and Dr. Ralf Wagner, established this website because we want to give beginners and also experienced lichenologists some understanding of the microscopy of lichens from our point of view. We are hobby microscopists want to show, that everyone can engage oneself successfully with this theme. It is our aim to present our own findings and also materials from external herbaria in a way that all important identifying characteristics can be seen. For this purpose we will show macro- and microfotos. Furthermore on this website there will be some hints concerning the handling of lichens and especially the preparation of cross sections. But we will discuss also the microscopes to be used. Currently we are working on a fascicle in which we want to present the results of our work to other lichenologists. This fascicle compilation will continuously be upgraded and extended.
